Techie Tuesday introduces you to a different member of our technical team to give you an insider’s view on what it’s really like to work in the industry. Our experts share their career paths, advice about getting into tech, and motivation to help you get inspired. This Techie Tuesday we talk to Artem P., Navixy Technical Support Engineer. He answered our questions about his role and his best advice in the tech industry. Here's what he said.
I'm a technical support engineer. My work is to explain how the platform works to our partners, find solutions for their business, share application program interfacing (API) calls and steps to get the necessary information if they develop apps, and figure out and share with our developers the things that aren’t working properly. Also, my responsibilities include writing developer API and user documentation.
The feeling that you can make a lot every day and see these results. It’s a proud feeling when you can find the best solution or algorithm.
The first big project I was entrusted with: The transfer of API documentation from the old engine with modifications. Our documentation used to use a different program to present information about API calls to our users. Not only did it look different, but it also worked differently. We transferred old documents from it and modified them: rewrote a lot of information, changed their format and unified it, added instructions, changed and extended descriptions, renewed existing requests and added more API calls that weren't described, and changed the way of presenting code, added examples to every API call.
It was necessary to rewrite the documents, format them, add new documents, and bring everything to the same format. We also added examples of each API call and step-by-step instructions to the documentation, explaining how to use the API call groups.
I like to spend time with my family, meet with friends, walk and think, play board games and play Xbox and PS.
The Tech industry isn't so hard but requires attentiveness and time to understand. Once you get it — it will work for you and save you more time in the future.
You can get everything if you have a wish and time. Sometimes we should make a step backward to get an impact in the future.
