# Battery charge mode

Choose when a GPS device's backup battery charges in Navixy, with options for automatic, ignition-on only, or ignition-on with low-battery fallback.

Controls when the device's backup battery charges.

## Settings

* **Charge mode**: choose when charging happens:
  * **Automatically when needed**: the device charges as required.
  * **Only when ignition is on**: charging only while the vehicle is running.
  * **When ignition is on or battery is low**: charges when the ignition is on, or automatically any time the battery level drops below 30%.

## Availability

Appears on battery-powered device models that expose a charge mode.
