Most of modern trackers have outputs that allow you to connect and manage various equipment like engines, alarms, etc.
Unlike inputs, outputs send signals, only have 2 states (ON and OFF) and typically do not require any setup.
The number of available outputs depends on the device’s model. Current status of outputs can be viewed in the Outputs widget on the platform
If your widget is greyed out
Please check that your device is online. Output management is only available to connected devices.
If you wish to block the engine or enable the alarm – you can change output’s state from the platform.
In order to do that, first, please make sure your equipment is properly connected to the output.
Then go to the Tracking menu and in the outputs widget click on the output you want to change
In order to prevent accidental state changes – a confirmation wndow will appear.
Once you press “Yes” a command will be sent to the device to change selected output’s status.
If your outputs’s status didn’t change please check following parameters
- Device has a default password. Commands sent from the platform use default passwords, if passwords don’t match – command will be ignored by the device
- Please check that the equiment is properly connected to the output.
Note: some devices can have outputs disabled by default, in this case please configure the device in it’s configuration software or via SMS commands - Remote output control might be only supported over SMS. In this case please send the commands manually.
Some trackers have stateless outputs. Their peculiarity is that you cannot remotely see what such output’s status is. Since you can only send ON/OFF commands to it – widget looks a bit different
