# Demo (trial) On-Premise instance FAQ

## Can I have a demo On-Premise instance? What do I need to have one?

Depends on your purposes.

If you want to test the functionality of the platform and On-Premise solution in your infrastructure, you need a license in any case. In the first instance, you should contact the sales team or your personal account manager to arrange a trial license and agree on a timeframe. Trial keys always have a limited validity period.

If your goal is just to test the installation process without further use of the platform, then all you need to do is follow the installation instructions on the Navixy website, skipping entering a license key or specifying a random key. It doesn't disrupt the installation process and only prevents you from using the tracking functionality.

## What are the limitations of a test license?

The trial license has the following limitations:

* Number of devices available for registration (e.g., 10).
* Validity period (e.g., 1 month).
* No geocoding, i.e., conversion of coordinates into addresses.
* No Google Maps or other premium features.

## Is the test instance covered by technical support?

Yes, of course. If you have any questions about the test instance or encounter any technical issues, please contact the Technical Solutions department. Our specialists will help you with any questions you may have.

## Can a test instance be converted to a product instance?

Yes, of course. Technically, it is the same platform, the only difference being in licensing. When you switch to a product license, your platform gets all the necessary features. It doesn't require reinstallation — all you need to do is update the license key. To switch to a product license, contact your account manager.

## Can I prolong the test license? How many times and for how long?

Yes, upon agreement with your account manager. We don't have strict limits on testing. It all depends on your tasks and objectives.
