# Parking detection

How the Navixy platform decides a tracker has stopped, which is what splits a trajectory into trips.

Parking detection is how the platform decides that a tracker has stopped moving. That decision does two jobs:

* It splits a continuous trajectory into separate trips, which is what makes a track legible on a map and a tabular report readable.
* It raises the trip start and trip end events that rules can notify on.

The settings here are the thresholds behind that decision, and they are per tracker, because what counts as a stop differs between a delivery van and a crane.

## API actions

API base path: `/tracker/settings/trip_detection`.

## Read parking detection settings

> Get how the platform decides this tracker has stopped. These settings split a trajectory into trips and drive the trip start and end events. Available to demo accounts.

* 208 - The tracker exists but is blocked, normally because its tariff ended.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://navixy.com/docs/navixy-api/user-api/resources/tracking/tracker/settings/trip_detection.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
