# Base

A health check that does nothing and reports success.

`base/nothing` does nothing and reports success. It is the cheapest call in the API, which makes it useful for two things: checking that the Navixy platform is reachable, and checking that a credential still works.

The second is worth knowing when debugging. A dead API key makes every authenticated call return error 4, which looks the same as a per-operation permission problem. If `base/nothing` fails while an unauthenticated call such as [`timezone/list`](/docs/navixy-api/user-api/resources/commons/timezone.md#post-timezone-list) still answers, the credential is the problem rather than the endpoint.

## API actions

API base path: `/base`.

Operations that list no errors of their own return only the [general error codes](/docs/navixy-api/general/errors.md#error-codes).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://navixy.com/docs/navixy-api/user-api/resources/commons/base.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
