AMGPS OBD-200

AMGPS OBD-200 is an OBDII tracker, that can be is easily installed into the diagnostic port of a car. GPS tracker takes power from it and can also read vehicle data such as speed, engine RPM, coolant temperature, battery voltage and more.

Location and tracking

OBD-200 model is embedded with GPS and doesn’t have support of GLONASS and alternative systems. It either doesn’t support Assisted GPS (A-GPS) technology. As the back-up, when no satellites signals are available, it uses Cell ID location (also known as LBS-tracking).

There are only two basic tracking modes, which do not provide too much flexibility: by time interval and by distance.

Also, the tracker supports turnings. It will update the positions automatically to web server once the vehicle changing driving direction over pre set angle (30 degrees) to form a smooth trajectory consistent with the actual road, this function is only effective in GPRS mode.

OBDII data

OBD-200 can read from OBDII port such data as vehicle speed, engine RPM, coolant temperature, board voltage as well as “Check engine” (MIL) and DTC error codes.

Mobile networks

With Quad-band GSM 2G module GPS306 can be operated all over the world.

Emergency button

OBD-200 has a small SOS button. To send the SOS signal it’s required to hold the button pressed within 3 seconds.

Power supply

OBD-200 uses OBDII Connector Type B and voltage range 9-40V, which makes possible to install GPS306 both on cars and trucks.

OBD-200 also features a built-in rechargeable backup battery. When fully charged it ensures about 1-2 hours of device operation (in normal conditions).

When being unplugged from the OBDII socket the device sends notification to server.

Local and remote management

OBD-200 tracker can be fully controlled over GPRS, including configuration of tracking modes and controlling outputs. There is also a wide list of SMS commands in a human-friendly format, on which device always replies back. It supports remote APN settings configuration by SMS.

You can also configure OBD-200 from a PC, but you will require a special serial cable, which is not included into a standard package. No special software is required: device is detected as a flash drive and all configuration can be done by editing a text file on it.

LED Indication

OBD-200 has two LEDs

  • Green  LED indicates GSM/GPRS mode
  • Blue LED indicates GPS reception

Additional features

OBD-200 features a micro SD slot, so you can install a micro SD card into it and store all data there. Later you can analyze it, using proprietary software.

Also OBD-200 features a built-in microphone for acoustic surveillance.

Disadvantages

OBD-200 does not detect harsh driving behaviour and towing.
