Overview
We are pleased to introduce IoT Logic, our solution for telematics data flow management. This major release transforms how organizations work with device data through a no-code/low-code approach, universal data standardization, flexible data processing flows, and troubleshooting capabilities. IoT Logic serves as a "universal translator" for device data, eliminating the complexity of handling multiple protocols while enabling integration with various platforms and services.
With IoT Logic, organizations can focus on creating value from their data rather than managing its technical complexities. The intuitive workspace allows you to design custom data flows once, while IoT Logic handles the rest, delivering standardized and enriched data from all your connected devices. This approach reduces development time for integration projects, lowers the technical barrier to telematics data automation, enables data transformations without complex coding, and supports integration with multiple systems.
IoT Logic workspace is available to account Owners through the Account settings section of the platrform.
New features
IoT Logic Data Bridge
IoT Logic Data Bridge is the core component that provides a versatile data management system with a visual programming interface for telematics data. At its heart is a flow-based architecture that allows you to build custom data flows efficiently without extensive coding. Using this intuitive framework, you can:
- Combine multiple data sources within a single flow
- Create sequential or parallel processing paths
- Design custom transformation sequences
- Distribute processed data to multiple destinations simultaneously
The Data Bridge leverages Navixy Generic Protocol for standardized data exchange and Navixy IoT Logic Expression Language for data manipulation.
Within the flow-based architecture, Data Bridge provides three key node types:
- Data source node: Universal connector that receives and standardizes data from various GPS devices and sensors regardless of manufacturer or protocol
- Initiate attribute node: Data enrichment tool that transforms raw telemetry into meaningful business metrics
- Output endpoint node: Standardized data transmission component that delivers processed data to multiple destinations
Enhancements
Data Stream Analyzer becomes flow-responsive
The diagnostic monitoring tool has been improved to work contextually with each specific flow. This enhancement ensures the analyzer displays only the devices relevant to your current flow, simplifying troubleshooting and providing focused diagnostic capabilities.
The improved Data Stream Analyzer offers several benefits:
- Automatically adjusts the available device list based on the current flow
- Provides real-time visualization of data at each processing stage
- Maintains historical records of up to 12 previous values for pattern analysis
- Enables validation of data transformation processes
Comprehensive documentation
We've significantly enhanced our documentation to support different user needs:
- Product documentation - A business-focused overview explaining the value and capabilities of IoT Logic for decision makers
- User documentation - Detailed product descriptions and UI-based instructions for end-users and implementers
- API documentation - Developer/integrator focused documentation that describes how IoT Logic functionality can be used programmatically
Installation and upgrade notes
IoT Logic is fully integrated into the Navixy platform and is accessible through the Account settings section. For on-premises users, this functionality will become available with the nearest standalone build.
Future development
We're planning future expansions to make IoT Logic even more powerful:
- Logic node (Planned): Implement conditional branching that allows workflows to adapt based on business rules and time-based triggers
- Action node (Planned): Move beyond data processing to trigger commands and interact with devices
